So, here it goes. Why is it some people have this gene... this force... that prevents them from ever saying no! Not only can they not say "no", they are constantly coming up with other things to volunteer themselves for, even though no-one asked them to in the first place.
Case-in-point... I have this fatal design flaw. I cannot for the life of me, ever say "no". So, among all I have to do, I still volunteer to do more things... "sure, I'll be the soccer team manager", coach too, "why not?", watch someone else's kids "the more the merrier", help out in the classroom "sure, sign me up where ever, I'm sure I can fit it in... I hope." Well, that's all great until I realize, I don't have the time, not anywhere... but I still do it, somehow. I know not everyone is like this, I meet people everyday who say no to me... yet, I bend over backwards, twist, and do the jig to please them.
I wonder why we are killing ourselves, one little word at at time... the word "yes".

Kathryn's Bucket
One of my favorite camp songs was "There's a Hole in the Bucket". I always got a kick out of poor Henry and his predicament. He needed water, and his dear "know-it-all" wife had the solution... only, it never seemed to work.
Life is full of situations like this, isn't it... we have a problem, and no matter what we do, the solution evades us--usually because we can't get past that original setback.
So, here it is, my bucket... Now, I'm not saying my bucket is always empty, just that I have these ironic situations I can't seem to fix everyday. So, you are welcome to join me as I explore the no-win situations I face...
